HEATHEN SIGNS A NORTH AMERICA DISTRIBUTION DEAL FOR "RECOVERED"

Heathen have inked a distribution deal with Manhattan based Innovative Distribution Network (IDN).
Now you should be able to find a copy of "Recovered" at your local record store. If you don't find it at your local store you can ask the store manager to order it for you. Or you can always buy from the HEATHEN SHOP.

HEATHEN/EXODUS SHOW

EXODUS/HEATHEN/MAD AT SAM play live in Oakland August 27, 2004. Ira Black will be replaced by past member of Heathen, Sven Soderlund also known for his band Mercinary to play the show with Exodus. The show was like a high school reunion. There were a lot of long time no see faces. Thank you to all the old school metal heads that made it to the show both young and old.

HEATHEN RECRUITS NEW BASSIST

Yaz has been replaced by bassist Jon Torres known for being in WARNINGSF, ULYSSES SIREN, LAZZ ROCKIT, REPULSA, SLOUGH FEG, AND ANGEL WITCH. It was no surprise that Heathen would recruit veteran metal palyer Jon Torres to fill the slot as bassist after touring with Angel Witch which included Lee Altus and Darren Minter in the new Angel Witch line-up.This Angel Witch line-up played Bang Your Head Festival 2003 in Germany.

YAZ PARTS WAYS WITH HEATHEN

Yaz has parted ways with Heathen for personal reasons. The band would like to wish Yaz the best in his future endeavors.

METAL HEADS BLOW OUT BANDWIDTH

Due to the FAR more than expected responses to the media section, we've had to attempt to minimize the bandwidth usage by temporarily removing the streaming portions of this section. We have used 15 times our monthly allowance of bandwidth in a matter of a few days and we've had to put a halt to the streaming features. We appologize if this inconveniences anyone in any way by removing these features. This also affirms how many individuals there are that appreciate our artistry and we will go out of our way to find some resources and make these streaming media features available to you once again.

HEATHEN MAKES PARTNERSHIP WITH RELENTLESS RECORDS

Bay Area Old School Metal label Relentless Records makes partnership with Heathen. After talking to several labels about Heathen's new release Heathen decides to partner with Relentless Records and releases their own album. Relentless Records which started in 1986 with the release of Villain's "Only Time Will Tell" LP and Aggression's "Secretary Strut", later re-released Villain's LP and added live and rehearsal tracks on CD called "Time Machine" then released Bay Area thrash band Ulysses Siren "Above The Ashes", Warning SF "Aftermath" with bonus tracks recorded in 1985 and Angel Witch "Resurrection" released in 1999, has now released HEATHEN's "Recovered". Now RECOVERED — Bay Area's Heavy Metal HEATHEN Back For More... San Francisco, CA, February 29, 2004 —Long awaited third recording from the Bay Area’s heavy metal band HEATHEN scheduled for release on March 31, 2004. Titled RECOVERED¸ the band began this project in 1992¸ but tracks remained archived and unfinished until 2003 when, with the help of engineer and co-producer Rob Beaton, the salvaged early recordings were completed for the new 9 song disc.

Covers of DEATH ON TWO LEGS by QUEEN, HOLY WAR by THIN LIZZY, HELLBOUND by TIGER of PAN TANG, EYE OF THE STORM by SWEET SAVAGE are clear indicators why this band was one of —if not the —best bands to come out of the 80’s thrash metal days. The newest original track, In memory of…written and dedicated to former band member Randy Laird and his girlfriend, as well as lead vocal David White’s brother Jeffrey whose untimely losses occurred in 1991 has deep personal meaning to the band members. The remaining songs that make up this full-length album are tracks from Heathen’s Opiate of the Masses demo, the pre-production to their 1991 release Victims of Deception. These include Hypnotized, Opiate of the Masses, Timeless Cell of Prophecy and Mercy is No Virtue.

HEATHEN IN THE PAST

The bands first release Breaking the Silence debuted in 1987 to great reviews and garnered heavy airplay followed by a US tour. The video for single Set me Free debuted on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball, giving the band greater exposure and is found now in rotation on VH—1’s Metal Mania. Followed up by 1991’s critically acclaimed second release Victims of Deception the bands sound was noticeably heavier and more intelligent. After reforming in 2001 for benefit concert Thrash of the Titans in San Francisco, the band was invited to attend Waaken 2002 open air concert in Hamburg, Germany. Re-energized after their return, the band went back into the studio to pick up where they left off resulting in the upcoming release of RECOVERED.

“This is the chance to get a glimpse of Heathen of yesterday, today and tomorrow”, said lead singer Dave White about HEATHEN UNCOVERED, an extended play DVD to closely follow the CD release.
